Recall that a complex manifold \(X\) is said to have the density property if every holomorphic vector field on it can be approximated locally uniformly by Lie combinations of complete holomorphic vector fields on \(X\) (complete means that its complex flow is well definded for all time). This notion was introduced in [\textit{D. Varolin}, J. Geom. Anal. 11, No. 1, 135--160 (2001; Zbl 0994.32019)]. The authors say that a complex automorphism of a complex manifold \(X\) is a generalized translation if for any \(\mathcal{O}(X)\)-convex compact \(K\subsetneq X\) there exists an \(m \in \mathbb{N}\) such that the iterate \(\tau^m \) satisfies: 1) \(\tau^m (K) \cap K = \emptyset \) and 2) \(\tau^m (K) \cup K\) is \(\mathcal{O}(X)\)-convex. The authors show the existence of a free dense subgroup, generated by two elements in the holomorphic shear and over shear subgroups of the complex Euclidean space \(\mathbb{C}^n\). Moreover, the result is extended to the group of holomorphic automorphisms of Stein manifolds \(X\) with the density property, provided there exists a generalized translation. A second result: the conjugation operator associated to this generalized translation is hypercyclic on the topological space of holomorphic automorphisms of \(X\).
