The paper investigates, on a smooth quartic surface \(X\) with Picard number \(1\), rank \(r\) Ulrich bundles, i.e., bundles that are arithmetically Cohen-Macaulay with Hilbert polynomial \(P(t) = 2r(t+2)(t+1)\). More precisely, the author proves the existence of simple Ulrich bundles of a given even rank, computes the dimension of the modular family of simple Ulrich bundles with such a rank and proves that the strictly semistable Ulrich bundles are parametrized by a space of strictly smaller dimension. So he can prove the existence of stable Ulrich bundles. The paper is based on the method used by \textit{M. Casanellas} and \textit{R. Hartshorne} in [Int. J. Math. 23, No. 8, Article ID 1250083, 50 p. (2012; Zbl 1255.14034)], where Ulrich bundles on a cubic surface are considered.
