Recently, two papers [\textit{F. David} et al., Commun. Math. Phys. 342, No. 3, 869--907 (2016; Zbl 1336.83042)] and [\textit{B. Duplantier} et al., ``Liouville quantum gravity as a mating of tree'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1409.7055}] discussed Liouville quantum gravity applied to the 2D unit area sphere. In this paper, it is shown that the two approaches are equivalent by considering a unified limiting procedure.
