Let \(\Omega\) be a domain (= open set) in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) and let \(A_V = - \Delta + V(x)\) be a Schrödinger operator where the negative part of the real potential \(V\) belongs to a Kato class. Then \(A_V\) generates a self-adjoint operator in \(L_2 (\Omega)\) such that \(A_V +c \, id >0\) for some \(c>0\). The corresponding dyadic spectral decomposition \[ id = \psi (A_V) + \sum^\infty_{j=1} \phi_j \big( \sqrt{A_V} \big) \] imitates the classical dyadic resolution of unity in \(\mathbb{R}^n\). On this basis, the authors introduce first the counterparts \(S_V (\Omega)\) and \(S'_V (\Omega)\) of \(S(\mathbb{R}^n)\) and \(S'(\mathbb{R}^n)\) and afterwards, the related inhomogeneous Besov spaces \(B^s_{p,q} (A_V)\) where \(s\in \mathbb{R}\) and \(1\le p,q \le \infty\). They are Banach spaces and independent of \(\{\psi, \phi_j \}\) (equivalent norms). The paper deals furthermore with properties of these spaces, in particular duality, embeddings and lifts. In addition, homogeneous spaces \(\dot{S} (\Omega)\), \(\dot{S}' (\Omega)\) and \(\dot{B}^s_{p,q} (A_V)\) are introduced and studied.
