Warfield has proved that every injective module has the exchange property and Fuchs generalized this result to quasi-injective modules. Noting that automorphism-invariant modules are generalization of quasi-injective modules, the authors, in this short and interesting paper, prove that every automorphism-invariant module has the exchange property. For this they first prove that \(\text{End}(M)\), for an automorphism-invariant module \(M\), is a semiregular ring and hence, by a result of Nicholson, \(\text{End}(M)\) has the exchange property and so \(M\) has exchange property. If, in addition, \(M\) is directly finite the authors prove that \(\text{End}(M)/J(\text{End}(M))\) is unit-regular.
