The author introduces a new definition of volume which is based on a version of the centroid body and was inspired by a result of the paper [\textit{D. Burago} and \textit{S. Ivanov}, Geom. Funct. Anal. 22, No. 3, 627--638 (2012; Zbl 1266.52008)]. The author shows that his concept of volume induces convex \(k\)-densities for all \(k\), and obtains as a corollary Burago-Ivanov's theorem.
