The authors consider the following problem: Given a function in a disc in the two-plane, find a Riemannian isothermal metric in the disc such that the Gaussian curvature of the metric equals to the given function. This problem has many solutions and the authors study special solutions meeting the mean curvature property for harmonic functions with respect to some point. They find a condition for curvature which ensures that there exists a solution to the problem and moreover this solution is unique. They also expose some examples of curvature for which this problem is unsolvable.
