The paper deals with algebraic properties of the symbols of geometric first order differential operators on Kähler manifolds. By means of study of the universal enveloping algebra and higher Casimir elements, the author obtains various relations for the symbols which induce Bochner identities for the operators under consideration. As consequence, vanishing theorems and eigenvalue estimates are derived.
