Let \(F: \mathbb R^N \rightarrow \mathbb R^p\) be a \(C^2\) semi-algebraic mapping and \(W \hookrightarrow \mathbb R^N\) be an embedded compact semi-algebraic manifold without boundary of dimension at least \(p\geqslant 2\). The authors describe sufficient conditions under which there exists an open book structure on \(W\) induced by the projection \(\frac{F}{\| F\|}: W\setminus F^{-1}(0) \rightarrow S^{p-1}\) (cf. [\textit{R. Araújo dos Santos} and \textit{M. Tibăr}, Geom. Dedicata 147, 177--185 (2010; Zbl 1202.32026)]). As a result, they extend the corresponding local and global Milnor's fibrations to the real and complex settings, obtain a few simple relations between the Euler characteristics of the fiber of the projection \(\frac{F}{\| F\|}\) and \(W\cap F^{-1}(0)\), discuss the case of polynomial maps (cf. [\textit{R. N. A. Dos Santos} et al., Math. Scand. 118, No. 1, 57--69 (2016; Zbl 1338.32026)]) illustrated by clear examples, etc.
