A family of order relations is investigated for nonnegative random variables which is then extended to include as elements several of the order relations introduced by \textit{D. Stoyan} [Qualitative Eigenschaften und Abschätzungen stochastischer Modelle. München etc.: R. Oldenbourg Verlag (1977; Zbl 0395.60082)]. The relations that are considered are used as means for measuring the comparative degree of concentration of distributions with respect to the origin. Potential applications of the above order relations in statistical theory are discussed.
