The receptivity and nonparallel stability of traveling disturbances of long wavelength (on the order of Reynolds number \(R\)) are invetigated. The nonparallel effects are included in a self-consistent manner. It is shown that eigensolutions exist which grow or decay algebraically in the radial direction. These algebraic-type solutions exist for all frequencies \(\omega\) and all spanwise wave numbers \(\beta\). However, growing disturbances exist only for frequencies larger than 4.58 times the disk rotational frequency and for a certain range of \(\beta\) values.
