By assuming the positivity of the equilibrium state of a Lotka-Volterra model of \(n\) interacting species defined by \(x_ i'=x_ i(a_ i- \sum_{j=1}^ n b_{ij} x_ j)\), \(i=1,\dots,n\), sufficient conditions are given for the stability of the equilibrium state. The stability of the Lotka-Volterra model under random environmental perturbations is investigated.
