On the Gieseker-Petri map for rank 2 vector bundles (Q1197376): Difference between revisions

Let \(W^ r_{n,d}\) be the space of stable vector bundles of rank \(n\) and degree \(d\) with at least \(r+1\) sections over a smooth curve of genus \(g\). Its singular locus contains \(W^{r+1}_{n,d}\), but equality only holds for rank \(n=1\). The author describes the extra components of the singular locus of \(W^ 1_{2,d}\) and proves that \(W^ 2_{2,d}\) is reduced and irreducible for \(d>{2\over 3}g+2\).
