It is known that if a Barker sequence of length \(s>13\) exists then \(s=4N^ 2\) for some odd integer \(N\geq 55\). This paper presents a new attempt to the problem of the existence of Barker sequences. It eliminates the other values of \(N<500\), except for six ones, the smallest of which is 689.
