On the convergence of subdifferentials of convex functions (Q689714): Difference between revisions

Let \(f,f_ 1,f_ 2,f_ 3,\dots\) be a sequence of proper lower semicontinuous convex functions defined on a general Banach space \(X\). We show, subject to a normalizing condition, that the convergence of the associated sequence of subdifferentials \(\langle\partial f_ n\rangle\) to \(\partial f\) in the Kuratowski-Painlevé sense is equivalent to the epigraphical convergence of \(\langle f_ n\rangle\) to \(f\) with respect to a topology on convex functions that reduces to the topology of Mosco convergence for reflexive \(X\).
