An algebraic characterization of stability groups (Q1317040): Difference between revisions

The author gives necessary and sufficient conditions which characterize the stability groups within the full homeomorphism group of a manifold. Other results apply to more general homeomorphism groups and uncover properties of subgroups which are transitive on the complement of themselves in their coset space.
