Let \(qD\) be the quasivariety generated by the group \(D\), where \(D = \text{gr}(a,b \mid a^{p^ 2} = 1,\;b^ p = 1,\;b^{-1} ab = a^{p + 1})\) for a fixed prime \(p\) and let \(L_ q(qD)\) be the lattice of quasivarieties contained in \(qD\). Two theorems are proved in this paper. Theorem 1. The only maximal quasivariety in the lattice \(L_ q(qD)\) is not generated by a finite group. Let \(L_ p\) be the set of quasivarieties each of which is generated by a finite \(p\)-group. Theorem 2. \(L_ 2\) is not a sublattice of the lattice of quasivarieties. This provides a solution to \textit{A. Budkin}'s problem [cf. Problem 10.9 in the Kourovka Notebook (Unsolved Problems of Group Theory), 10th ed., Novosibirsk (1986; Zbl 0625.20001)] for \(p = 2\).
