The author investigates some subfamilies of \({\mathcal P}_\kappa (\lambda)\), \(\kappa\) regular, \(\kappa\leq \lambda\), called \((\kappa, \lambda)\)-semimorasses. For \(\lambda= \kappa^+\) they are a weak version of simplified \((\kappa, 1)\)-morasses of \textit{D. Velleman} [J. Symb. Logic 49, 257-271 (1984; Zbl 0575.03035)]. The existence of a stationary \((\kappa, \lambda)\)-semimorass is consistent with ZFC (proved by a simple forcing construction). Some consequences of the existence of a stationary \((\kappa, \lambda)\)-semimorass are shown, e.g., the existence of a \(\kappa\)-Kurepa tree with exactly \(\lambda\) branches without \(\kappa\)-Aronszajn subtrees and the existence of a nonreflecting stationary set in \({\mathcal P}_\kappa (\lambda)\). Assuming \(\lambda^\omega= \lambda> \omega_1\), cf\((\lambda)> \omega\), and starting from a stationary \((\omega_1, \lambda)\)-semimorass, some exceptional topological spaces and exceptional trees are constructed.
