A generalization of Muirhead's inequality [see, e.g., \textit{G. H. Hardy}, \textit{J. E. Littlewood} and \textit{G. Pólya}, ``Inequalities'' (1952; Zbl 0047.053, reprint 1988; Zbl 0634.26008), pp. 44-48] from the group of permutations on \(\{1,\dots, n\}\) to finite groups of linear transformations on a real vector space is offered and applied to derive other inequalities.
