    The author presents some associated continued fraction expansions of the generating functions for the \(q\)-Stirling numbers of the first and second kind. For example, \[ 1+ \sum_{n\geq 1} \sum_{k=1}^n S_q [n, k] a^k x^n= {1 \over {1-ax}} {\mathop {\begin{matrix}{}\\ {-} \end{matrix}}} {{\lambda_1 x^2} \over {1-b_1 x}} {\mathop {\begin{matrix}{}\\ {-} \end{matrix}}} {{\lambda_2 x^2} \over {1-b_2 x}} {\mathop {\begin{matrix}{}\\ {-} \end{matrix}}} {\mathop {\begin{matrix}{}\\ {\cdots} \end{matrix}}} \] where \(b_k= aq^k+ (q^k -1)/ (q-1)\) and \(\lambda_k= aq^k (q^k -1)/ (q-1)\).
