The paper extends some previous results obtained by the authors on strong uniform \(L^1\)-convergence to equilibrium in wide class of initial data, but with the realistic hard-sphere collision kernel in the present context. For this purpose, strict entropy production bounds for the Boltzmann equation are established. An exhaustive introduction plus different lemmas and theorems illustrate the importance of the uniformity in connexion with the study of the solutions to the spatially inhomogeneous Boltzmann equation.
