The paper deals with the question, whether a stationary point for the bulk energy (of a liquid crystal), which is equal to a constant on the boundary of the domain, occupied by the material, must become a constant throughout this domain. Five theorems are proved expanding considerably known dependencies between existence of such solutions and star-shapeness of the domain. But there are also results about non-starshaped bounded domains.
