    L'auteur commence cet article par un large rappel sur la quantification des variétés compactes. Elle rappelle en particulier comment on peut associer à un groupe de Lie compact \(G\) agissant sur une variété préquantifiable \((M, {\mathcal L})\) une représentation virtuelle \(Q(M, {\mathcal L})\). Elle démontre le théorème suivant: ``Soient \(G\) un tore et \(K\) un groupe de Lie compact. Soit \(M\) une variété Hamiltonienne pour \(G\times K\). Soit \({\mathcal L}\) un fibré quantique au dessus de \(M\). Soit \(\mu\) l'application moment pour l'action de \(G\). Supposons que \(G\) agit librement sur \(\mu^{-1} (0)\). Considérons la variété Hamiltonienne \(M_{\text{red}}= G\setminus \mu^{-1} (0)\) munie du fibré \({\mathcal L}_{\text{red}}\). Alors la représentation virtuelle \(Q(M, {\mathcal L})^G\) est isomorphe à la représentation virtuelle \(Q(M_{\text{red}}, {\mathcal L}_{\text{red}})\) de \(K\).'' En particulier, elle obtient l'égalité \(n(i\xi, M,{\mathcal L})= Q(M_{\text{red}} (\xi), {\mathcal L}_{\text{red}} (\xi))\) où \(n(i\xi, M, {\mathcal L})\) est la multiplicité du poids \(e_{i\xi}\) dans \(Q(M, {\mathcal L})\). Cette dernière égalité a été déja prouvée par E. Meinrenken en 1994, mais la méthode suivie par l'auteur de cet article est intéressante car elle utilise directement la formule universelle de Atiyah-Segal-Singer pour la caractère de \(Q(M, {\mathcal L})\).
