\textit{G. Adomian} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 119, 340-360 (1986; Zbl 0646.35063)] has applied the decomposition method to the Navier-Stokes equations in the Cartesian coordinate system. The present analysis gives the application of the decomposition method to the Navier-Stokes equations in cylindrical coordinates by means of which the steady two-dimensional irrotational flow problems in tubes of nonuniform circular cross-sections can be studied.
