\((p,q,r)\)-generations of the smallest Conway group \(Co_ 3\) (Q1355526): Difference between revisions

A group \(G\) is called \((l,m,n)\)-generated if it is a quotient of the group which has the presentation \(\langle x,y,z\mid x^l=y^m=z^n=xyz=1\rangle\). The authors determine all \((p,q,r)\)-generations of the sporadic simple Conway group \(Co_3\) for primes \(p\), \(q\), \(r\). This work continues related work of the authors on \((l,m,n)\)-generations of sporadic simple groups [Commun. Algebra 22, No. 11, 4597-4610 (1994; Zbl 0806.20018); 23, No. 12, 4427-4437 (1995; Zbl 0840.20011); 24, No. 3, 809-820 (1996; Zbl 0844.20009) and Nova J.
