This paper is devoted to getting lower bounds of powers of the singular values \(\sigma_{i_t}\) of products of complex matrices. The main result reads as follows: Let \(A\in\mathbb{C}^{n\times n}\), \(B\in\mathbb{C}^{n\times m}\) \((1\leq i<\cdots< i_k\leq n; 0<r\in\mathbb{R})\). Then \[ \sum^k_{t=1} \sigma^r_{i_t}(AB)\geq \sum^k_{t=1} \sigma^r_{i_t}(A) \sigma^r_{n- t+1}(B), \] which generalizes a classical result by \textit{A. R. Amir-Moèz} [Duke Math. J. 23, 463-476 (1956; Zbl 0071.01601)]. A generalization to more than two factors is also done.
