We describe the development of open boundary conditions for the simulation of nonlinear periodic shallow-water waves propagating through an open channel. A set of generalized Boussinesq equations is adopted as the mathematical model, and Euler's predictor-corrector finite difference algorithm is applied for numerical computation. The performance of various open boundary conditions for obliquely incident cnoidal waves is studied.
