The filters used for constructing compactly supported orthogonal Daubechies wavelets \(D_{2N}\) depend on a polynomial of degree \(N\). The filter coefficients can be computed from the zeros of this polynomial. In this paper, asymptotic expansions for these zeros when \(N\) is large are obtained from an asymptotic inversion of the incomplete beta function. The estimates obtained turn out to be very accurate.
