For a Tikhonov space \(X\) denote by \(C_p(X)\) the space of all continuous real-valued functions equipped with the topology of pointwise converence. A Tikhonov space \(Y\) is called the \(t\)-image of \(X\) if \(C_p(Y)\) is homeomorphic to a subspace of \(C_p(X)\). It is shown that if \(Y\) is a \(t\)-image of \(X\), then \(Y\) is a countable union of images of \(X\) under almost lower semicontinuous finite-valued mappings. Also if \(Y\) is a \(t\)-image of \(X\), then for every \(n\in\omega\), \(hl(Y^n)\leq hl(X^n)\), \(hd(Y^n)\leq hd(X^n)\) and \(s(Y^n)\leq s(X^n)\), where \(hl(X)\), \(hd(X)\) and \(s(X)\) is the hereditary Lindelöf number, the hereditary density and the spread of \(X\), respectively.
