The author proves the following Theorem 1. Let \(A,B\) be entire functions of order less than 1/4, not both polynomials. Then the equation \[ y^m+ Ay'+ By=0 \] cannot have 3 linear independent solutions \(f_1,f_2, f_3\) each with \(\lambda (f_j)< +\infty\). The next theorem was proved in his Ph.D. thesis [see \textit{S. M. Elzaidi}, Some theorems concerning linear differential equations in the complex domain, Ph.D. thesis, University of Nottingham (November 1996)]. Theorem 2. Let \(k\geq 3\) and let \(A,B\) be entire functions of order 0, not both polynomials. Then the equation \[ y^{(k)} +Ay'+ By=0 \] cannot have \(k\) linear independent solutions \(f_1, \dots, f_k\) each with \(\lambda (f_j)< +\infty\). The above theorems are the partial cases of Langley's conjecture [see \textit{J. K. Langley}, Result. Math. 20, No. 1/2, 517-529 (1991; Zbl 0743.34039)].
