This paper is devoted to the description of the Pin groups over the real numbers, and in particular of dual pairs in these groups. The paper begins with a treatment of central double covers and the construction of Pin groups. After this the author constructs dual pairs in the Pin groups. The paper concludes with some examples of finite dimensional representations of Pin groups which generate Howe-type correspondences.
