As indicated by its title, this paper studies the regular tilings \(\{3,n\}\) by triangles (where -- in the spherical, Euclidean, or hyperbolic plane, respectively -- \(n\) triangles meet at each vertex) and is concerned with colourings by \(n\) colours such that around each vertex all the colours occur (precise colourings). The emphasis is on precise colourings which are also perfect, i.e., for which all symmetries (fully perfect), or all direct symmetries (chirally perfect), or half of the direct and half of the indirect symmetries (semiperfect) permute the colours. The author shows how to construct such tilings, both using his method based on \(k\)-trees formed by triangles of the tiling, and also using a method of Raphael Robinson, surveys related results (including those of his student Nergiz Yaz), and reports some new ones (of work in progress).
