The authors' intention is to obtain an index-type invariant for a dynamical semigroup acting on a \(W^*\)-algebra that does not coincide with \({\mathcal B}({\mathcal H})\). To this end, they examine carefully the model case of a quasifree semigroup over the algebra of canonical anticommutation relations with invariant exact quasifree state. Following Arveson and Bhat, the authors introduce an index which is the dimension of a corresponding divisible product system of Hilbert spaces. They note that this index is related to the index of the bare semigroup of isometries in the one-particle space. This note provides statements, definitions and comments but no proofs are given.
