Previously, the author introduced the scalar curvatures of the first and second kind of left-invariant metrics on Lie groups. In the article under review, he discusses relations of these curvatures to the standard scalar curvature and shows how to use new characteristics for distinguishing special classes of Lie groups, in particular, groups whose universal coverings are homeomorphic to Euclidean spaces.
