An \(r\)-quorum queueing system with random server capacity under \(N\)-policy discipline is considered and an extended Muh's model is presented. The authors derive steady state probabilities of the discrete and continuous time parameter process. The cases of discrete and continuous parameter processes are considered and the decomposition properties are checked, and a necessary and sufficient condition for ergodicity is given. The theory is provided by examples.
