The author solves in a closed series form a one-dimensional dynamical plane-strain initial-boundary value problem of linear uncoupled thermoelasticity for a hollow circular cylinder made of two homogeneous isotropic layers with different thermomechanical properties and subject to both an initial interface pressure and a prescribed temperature field. A numerical example for a homogeneous isotropic hollow cylinder is included. The reviewer believes that a transcendental equation for the positive roots \(\zeta^j_i\) over which the series solution is defined, is missing [see Eq.~(12a)]. Also a motivation for assuming the temperature field in the form \(T(r,t)= T_0\exp (-\beta t)\) [Eq. (22)], that does not satisfy a parabolic heat conduction equation in the cylinder, is missing.
