The author states and studies a new boundary value problem which describes electrical currents in conductors with Hall conductivity. In the mathematical modelling of this physical process, there appear equations with asymmetric tensor coefficients. In the present article, only the first boundary value problem is considered. Uniqueness and existence of a weak solution, as well as its positive definiteness, are established for a single elliptic equation. It should be noted that the minimum principle is justified for the energy functional of this problem.
