A characterization for each \(E_k\), being the solution of \(\Delta^m x_{m-1}+ \sigma f(n, x_{n-r})= 0\) where \(f(n,x)\) is nonincreasing in \(x\), is given. A prototype of these equations (singular Emden-Fowler equations) is also studied.
