    The authors build up a direct spectral algorithm to solve the 3D Poisson and Helmholtz equations in a rectangular box. The algorithm incorporates the Galerkin-Legendre spectral approximation, the diagonalization of the three mass matrices and the lifting of the Dirichlet boundary values.
