The author studies the question of the `symplectization' of a bihamiltonian manifold \(M\) when the dimension of \(M\) is odd. This includes the investigation of sufficient conditions in the neighborhood of a generic point of \(M\). Special attention is given to the Poisson-Nijenhuis type of bihamiltonian structures, and examples are given in two appendices.
