The Laplace operators of a locally finite building \(\Delta\) of type \(\tilde A_2\) are defined as averaging operators on the space of complex valued functions defined on the vertices of \(\Delta\). Generalizing a classical result of \textit{S. Helgason} [Adv. Math. 5, 1-154 (1970; Zbl 0209.25403)] on symmetric spaces of rank 1, the authors show that all eigenfunctions of these operators admit a representation as Poisson transforms of finitely additive measures on the maximal boundary of \(\Delta\).
