Tilting modules for algebraic groups in prime characteristic have been studied intensively, but the only completely known case is that of \(\text{SL}_2\). The paper under review studies the first unknown case, that of \(\text{SL}_3\). When producing new tilting modules from old ones by translation one needs to identify indecomposable direct summands. A number of techniques is discussed to achieve this, and these techniques are then applied to completely describe many, but not all indecomposable tilting modules over \(\text{SL}_3\).
