Let \(S\) be a semigroup and \(p_n(S)\) denotes the cardinal number of the set of all essentially \(n\)-ary term operations of \(S\). In the paper all finite semigroups \(S\) for which the sequence \(p(S)=\langle p_0(S),p_1(S),\dots\rangle\) is bounded are described both in terms of identities and structurally.
