A periodic reaction diffusion system with the form \[ \begin{aligned}\frac{\partial u_i}{\partial t}+L_iu_i=f_i(x,t,u_1,\cdots,u_m,u_{ir},\cdots,u_{mr}),\quad\text{in }\Omega\times \mathbb{R}^1,\\ B_iu_i(x,t)=g_i(x,t),\quad\text{on }\partial\Omega\times \mathbb{R}^1,\tag{1}\end{aligned} \] where \(i=1,2,\cdots,m,u_{ir}=u_i(x,t-r),r\geq 0\) is a constant, \[ L_iu_i=-\sum\limits_{j,k=1}^{N}a^{(i)}_{jk}(x,t)\frac{\partial^2u_i} {\partial x_j\partial x_k}+\sum\limits_{j=1}^Nb_j^{(i)}(x,t)\frac {\partial u_i}{\partial x_j},\quad B_iu_i=u_i\quad \text{or }\quad B_iu_i=\frac{\partial u_i}{\partial \nu} +\beta_i(x,t)u_i \] (\(\frac{\partial u_i}{\partial \nu}\) denotes the outward normal derivative of \(u_i\) on \(\partial\Omega\)), is investigated. By using the periodic upper-lower solusion method, the authors obtained the existence of periodic solutions for system (1). The method of \textit{P. McKenna} and \textit{W. Walter} [Appl. Anal. 21, 207--224 (1986; Zbl 0593.35042)] who introduced a parameter \(\lambda\) in comparison principles is extended to the periodic system (1), and the uniqueness of the positive solution is obtained. The authors also discussed the monotone convergence to the periodic solution and give two examples to show how to use their methods. It should be noted that in Lemma 5.4, The conclusion \(\lambda_0-b_M\leq b(x,t)\leq \lambda_0-b_m\) must be corrected into \(\lambda_0-b_M\leq \lambda^*_0\leq \lambda_0-b_m\).
