Here, the semipositone problem \[ y''=\mu qf(t,y,y'),\quad 0<t<T,\quad \alpha y(0)-\beta y'(0)=a>0,\quad y(T)=0, \] is discussed. Here, \(\alpha,\beta\in (0,\infty)\) or \(\alpha=0\), \(\beta=1\) and the nonlinearity \(f\) may be singular at \(y=0\). Under suitable conditions (depending on the Thiele modulus \(\mu\)) the author establishes the existence of a solution positive on \([0,T)\).
