Recent results by \textit{M. R. Crisci}, \textit{V. B. Kolmanovskii}, \textit{E. Russo} and the author [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 211, No. 1, 106-130 (1997; Zbl 0882.65134); and J. Difference Equations Appl. 6, 127-145 (2000; Zbl 0951.65148)] are used to analyze the boundedness of the global error in Volterra-Runge-Kutta methods and direct quadrature methods for systems of linear second-order Volterra integral equations with nonconvolution kernels.
