The authors present an algorithm for numerically integrating non-autonomous Hamiltonian differential equation. These methods are based on Magnus expansions and can be considered geometric integrators, retaining many of the qualitative properties of the exact solution. They factor the 4th order Magnus series as a product of two and tree simple exponentials. They show very promising results when applied to Hamiltonian ordinary and partial differential equations.
