In a plane channel, the authors investigate the peristaltic transport of physiological fluids modelled by non-Newtonian Casson model. The perturbation series method is applied to calculate the streamfunction for zeroth and first order in amplitude ratio. It is shown that Newtonian fluid is an important subclass of non-Newtonian fluids that may adequately represent some physiological phenomena.
