Given an \(n\times n\) interval matrix \([A]\) the authors present an alternative proof of a theorem due to the reviewer [ibid. 58, 201-216 (1984; Zbl 0555.65020)] which states a necessary and sufficient condition for \([A]^k:= [A]^{k-1}\cdot[A]\) to converge to the zero matrix. The proof is more elementary than the original one.
