The paper deals with flow control of which the main goal is to avoid traffic congestion by regulating the rate of data packets coming from the sources. Here one uses asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) switching networks. The paper focuses on the explicit-rate feedback framework. Loosely speaking, one has queue systems which are controlled by using \(H^{\infty}\) optimization techniques. Trade-offs between robustness and time-domain performances are discussed. Simulation results are provided.
